FAQ – Pulse Productions Inc.

How far in advance do we need to book?

It depends on the month you are getting married in. The quickest months that book for us is May, June, July, August & September. We usually book 1-2 years in advance. We limit the number of weddings we do take in a year to assure that we have ample time to focus on each one individually. It is worth reaching out sooner rather than later. Our suggestion is to book your ceremony & reception venue first and then your photographer and/or videographer.

Do you travel for weddings?

100% YES! We serve all of Alberta, BC & Saskatchewan and will travel to any town, city, village, hamlet, or acreage in these provinces. We proudly serve Western Canada! Oh and we should also mention, we DO NOT charge any additional fees for travel and/or accommodations 😉

What type of payments do you accept?

Most people choose Interac E-Transfer, however, we also accept all major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa, Discovery & AMEX

I'm In! How do I book you or get in touch?

FANTASTIC! We can’t wait to meet you! Simply fill out the contact form above. We will schedule a free, no obligation consultation with you to make sure we are a good fit and that we can meet your needs, and then if everything looks amazing, we will then move forward with a contract and retainer to secure your date!

What equipment do you bring to a wedding?

We do not leave anything to chance. This is why we carry 5 camera systems with us to each wedding. Our camera eco-system is in the FujiFilm & Nikon families. We also carry our drone, multiple audio recorders, batteries, stabilizers, tripods, monopods and a whole lot more. Some may say it is overkill with the amount of gear we bring, but we wouldn’t want it any other way. You just never know what could happen.

I am SUUUUUPER uncomfortable in front of the camera!!!

You are not alone! Most people have never been photographed or filmed professionally in their lives and it can feel overwhelming.

Approx. 90% of our couples tell us that they are not confident in front of a camera. What we can tell you is that on your actual wedding day, there will be so much going on, you won’t have time to be nervous. In fact, the majority of the day, you will not even know that you are being photographed or filmed.

When it comes to formals, this is where you will notice, but have no fear, we will guide you on posing, joke around with you and take a relaxed approach to eliminate ANY stress that may come while being in front of the camera. We got you 😉

Why do you provide more films than just the highlight film and coming soon trailer?

We looked at the wedding landscape and zeroed in on the Wedding Videography industry. While other videographers are capturing the ceremony, speeches, etc. in full but only delivering a highlight film, we thought why would that be. It just does not make sense to us. We already have the footage, why not give the full ceremony, full speeches, full formal dances, first look, etc. These are your memories. So we made the decision to add those 3 crucial films on top of our Highlight Films & Coming Soon Trailer.

What info do you need before the wedding?

Initially, we just require the basic contact information when creating your contract with us along with a few other tid bits. Once your date is secured with us, we then send out our Photo & Film questionnaire. This is where you will find more detailed questions about your day. We then take this information and develop a timeline with you.

How do we print our images?

Upon photo delivery, you have full print rights to your edited images. You may use any printing vendor you wish for printing. You can also order prints through us which are printed on a colour calibrated & professional printer.

Can we request specific shots?

Yes, we are happy to take specific shots that you request. However, it’s important to keep in mind that the photographer may not be able to capture every shot on your list due to time constraints or other factors.

How long does it take to receive photos and/or films?

The turnaround time for wedding photographs & films varies from company to company. Typically, it takes anywhere from 8-12 weeks to receive the final edited photos & films. During the summer months, it can take up to 12 weeks. However, our Diamond & Crystal Packages include an accelerated delivery time. Contact us for more information.

How many photographs will we receive?

We can not officially state how many images your day will hold as there are so many factors that play into the final number. Generally we say approx. 40-50 edited images per hour of photographing.

What editing platforms do we use?

While we appreciate this question, we are strong believers that the gear & editing platforms we use are tools or an extension of our creativity.

BUUUUUUUT, if you must know (Nick is a gear and tech head) we use Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom & CaptureOne for the photo side of things and DaVinci Resolve Studio, Adobe After Effects & Adobe Premiere on the video side of things.

How long doyou keep our photos and films?

We keep them hosted guaranteed for a year. We have them online, on our NAS and we have a copy of them at a secured location offsite. After that year mark, we start archiving.

We are very strong believers in back ups. If you do not have your photos and/or films in 3 separate locations, we consider that not backed up. When we deliver your photos and films, we will advise that you keep them on your computer, a flash drive that can be put in a fire & flood safety box, and at a place off site (like at your parents)

It goes without saying that if an unfortunate event happens after that year mark, rest assured that your footage is archived with us. Just let us know and we can get another copy of your photos and films out to you.
